When I first bought these, the company emailed me asking for a review, and I gave 3 stars. My reasons were a) the price is absolutely insane (I still feel that, I usually pay $25 for shoes) and b) they weren't immediately comfortable, and by the time I was able to decide whether or not I really wanted them, they would be un-returnable. So my first impression was iffy.
But they were cute. Like, really cute. And grounding? C'mon. Who could use more of that and less plastic? So I kept them.
There were a few moments in the first month that made me think, "I've made an expensive mistake". But I put on socks and continued to wear the shoes for 10 minutes here and 25 minutes there, eventually going on short walks. They rubbed at my heel and across the top of my foot at the big toe side, and I'm not interested in blisters, so I broke these in slooooooowly. Socks in these aren't a cute look for me, so I was happy when I could lose the socks after about 2 weeks of light/intermittent wear. I was still unsure.
After wearing these for a few months now, they really have become my favorite shoes. It took a while, and I want to respect that that is the nature of natural materials, and that these will probably outlast my plastic barefoot soles by a decade. So the investment will pay off in time.
And girl, they are cuuute.
There isn't really anything else like them that I've found on the market.
For me, they fit true to size (8 wide, I've been in barefoot shoes for 10 yrs). They weren't *snug* on delivery; they were a firmer leather, which didn't *pinch* but definitely rubbed. I'm glad I stuck with size 8 because after breaking in, they aren't too tight, and the areas that rubbed initially have softened and relaxed. They are as close to wearing nothing at all as I've found so far. The soles have molded to the curves of my feet, and it doesn't feel "hard" anymore; it feels like I belong there.
Just some of my takeaways - I hope this helps someone on the fence about them.
They get better with age.
